About
About REELFREE NATION
A citizen-led public-interest movement, starting in India, working for digital environments that respect human attention.
Who we are
REELFREE NATION is a movement first and a website second. It brings together people who want an honest, evidence-led public conversation about algorithmically driven, infinite-scroll short-video feeds — and evidence-based protections, especially for children and young people.
We start in India. In time, we hope chapters in other countries will take up the same questions using their own evidence and their own legal frameworks.
Status and governance
The movement is at an early stage. For now, final decisions on its mission, policy, funding and legal matters rest with its founder. As it grows, we intend to publish a formal governance structure, and we may form an expert advisory council to support the quality of our research and policy work.
What we will disclose
We intend to publish a dedicated transparency section covering:
- Who runs the movement
- How it is governed
- Where its funding comes from, including any sponsorship
- Conflicts of interest
- How research and the survey are carried out
- How personal data is handled
- Corrections and updates
How we will be funded
The movement is mission-first. In the future it may be supported by ethical sponsorships, donations, grants, supporter programmes, educational and school programmes, and research publications — disclosed as described above.
- We will avoid advertising that conflicts with a mission about attention and wellbeing.
- Any commercial digital-wellbeing product will be kept separate from our advocacy, and governed openly.
- Funding will never buy a research finding or a policy position.
- We will never sell survey participants' personal data.
This site does not take donations.
